It’s no secret that the New England Patriots have struggled to find an adequate quarterback replacement for Tom Brady.
Replacing one of the best quarterbacks in league history was going to be a tall task, but after the failed Mac Jones experiment, the Patriots are going back to the drawing board.
They currently have the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, a position that allows them to select a top quarterback prospect if they so choose.
Fans and analysts alike have tried to predict who the Patriots are going to take in this position.
Some believe they will go for Jayden Daniels if he falls, others are more sure about Drake Maye, and a third option has also emerged, per Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero indicated that the Patriots hosted J.J. McCarthy for a dinner and are also spending time with him in Foxborough.

McCarthy saw his draft stock rise during his run with Michigan to the national title game, where he got the job done and secured the coveted victory.
NFL scouts started believing in his talents and his ability to win at the highest level, which is likely why he is meeting with the Patriots.
He is more of a traditional quarterback prospect than Daniels, Maye, and Williams, which could be appealing to an organization like the Patriots.
They have embodied an old-school mentality for several years, but with the departure of Bill Belichick in the offseason, it remains to be seen what the heartbeat of this team might be moving forward.
