The Carolina Panthers seemed to be in a new era when Cam Newton joined the team.
He was viewed as one of the most electrifying players in the league at the time, seemingly poised to lead the team for the foreseeable future.
Newton did put up an MVP campaign in 2015, bringing the Panthers to an impressive 15-1 record.
He then led them to the Super Bowl against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos but ultimately fell short of his goal to win the big game.
Newton recently appeared on “Club Shay Shay,” talking to Shannon Sharpe about what it felt like to lose in that moment.
“I was mentally drained. It was a lot. Still, to this day, I’ve never really watched the game,” Newton said.

Newton and the Panthers made it to the title game, and despite being the best team in the NFL during the regular season, they couldn’t find a way to beat Manning and the Broncos.
It is clear that this is something he still thinks about, judging by the emotions this conversation elicited.
Playing in the NFL is said to be an emotional roller coaster for players, whether they like it or not.
They are driven by success and want to bring their team a ring, and when they fall short of their goals, it can have a negative impact on their mental health.
Newton is certainly open and honest about how he felt after this loss, understanding that things didn’t go to plan for him in this instance.
