This season, the Kansas City Chiefs are off to another impressive start, with wins in four of their first five games.
Despite a surprising Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, the Chiefs were able to quickly get themselves back on track, and now, once again, they’re viewed as one of the top contenders in the AFC.
Kansas City is better than the majority of the teams in the AFC this year, but there’s one team in particular that FS1’s Colin Cowherd believes could stand in their way of repeating as Super Bowl champions this season.
“[The Cincinnati Bengals are] the only team Kansas City fears. To me, the only team the Chiefs fear is Joe Burrow, home or away.”

It’s an interesting claim by Cowherd since the Bengals have been one of the worst teams in the NFL so far this season.
Cincinnati looked much closer to their form from previous years during their win over the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, but their opponent has also been one of the worst teams in the league this season.
A win over the Cardinals might be a little misleading, but Cowherd also brought up some good points about the Bengals consistently getting off to slow starts during the last few years.
He shared that in Joe Burrow’s pro career, the quarterback has a record of 12-15-1 in games played in September and October.
But in November, December, and January, Burrow has a career record of 14-5.
Cowherd believes last week’s win over Arizona was just the start of Cincinnati being good again.
If he’s right, then the Chiefs probably should be worried about the Bengals possibly spoiling their hopes of a Super Bowl repeat.
