For most of the NFL Draft process, Drake Maye has been quite a polarizing figure.
While most people admit that he’s one of the most talented and physically gifted players in this class, some think he might not be ready to perform right away.
That didn’t use to be a deal-breaker for quarterbacks back in the day, as they often spent a couple of years on the sidelines before being thrown into the fire.
However, the way the game is played and rosters are built now, as well as the lack of patience to develop young quarterbacks, this could be an issue going forward.
That’s why former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky believes whoever takes Maye in the NFL Draft should take the same approach the Green Bay Packers took with Jordan Love.

He took to Twitter to show some of his missed throws and point out why he’s missing those throws, explaining that most of the issues are mechanical.
Nonetheless, he also believes those are the kinds of things that can and will be fixed at the NFL level, provided he’s given some time to sit and develop his game.
The New York Giants, New England Patriots, and even Minnesota Vikings have all been mentioned as potential destinations for the UNC product.
They could all afford to have him sitting one year while they start a veteran, so they’re all potentially favorable situations for him.
Hopefully, they won’t rush him into action and ruin what might be a long and successful NFL career.
