The Kansas City Chiefs drew some mockery when they traded for Kadarius Toney.
Despite being a first-round talent, he hadn’t done much to prove himself with the New York Giants, and it didn’t take long before he overstayed his welcome in the Big Apple.
Toney made an immediate impact on the team and was expected to have a prominent role in the offense in his second season in Missouri, but that wasn’t the case.
Injuries, inconsistency, and some antics kept him off the field to finish the campaign, and it didn’t seem like he was going to be there at all in 2024.
Nonetheless, it seems like HC Andy Reid still hasn’t lost faith in him.
“He’s arguably one of the most talented guys we have on the team. It’s just a matter of him being able to stay healthy and stay on the field. . . it’s great that he’s down there working with Pat and putting the work in,” Reid said, per Charles Goldman.

The future Hall of Fame coach stated that Toney was one of the most talented players they have on the roster, adding that it’ll all depend on him being able to stay on the field and getting healthy.
Reid also stated that he’s glad that Toney reported to the voluntary offseason program to get some work in with Patrick Mahomes.
Toney’s most infamous moment of the season came in a crucial loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs got a game-winning play overturned because he was lined up way offside.
They were able to rally late in the campaign and win consecutive Super Bowls, and given the current status of their WR corps, they will need Toney to bounce back to have a chance to win three in a row.
