The Miami Dolphins are in the market for a slot receiver to complement their two star wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, as the position has not been sufficiently addressed yet this offseason and was a notable issue last season.
There is one big name that has been linked to the Dolphins all offseason, yet recent reports say a deal is still not close to getting to the finish line.
Insider Omar Kelly shared that Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said that a deal with Odell Beckham Jr. is not imminent despite all the reports in recent weeks suggesting the Dolphins exchanged offers with him already.
Dolphins GM Chris Grier basically said Odell Beckham deal isn’t imminent. They’ve exchanged offers and will leave it at that.

Miami is right up against the salary cap and Beckham is likely still looking for more than the Dolphins are capable of offering, so the two sides are apparently at a stalemate.
Beckham is now 31 and bounced back from a torn ACL suffered in the Super Bowl after the 2021 season to put up 565 yards and three touchdowns for the Baltimore Ravens last year.
As it currently stands, Miami’s depth at WR behind Hill and Waddle is Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft, which leaves a lot to be desired.
Miami has the 21st overall pick in the draft but does not have its third and fourth-round picks, so if the Dolphins want to bring in one of the better receivers in a loaded class, they will have to take one early.
OBJ to the Dolphins still makes sense on paper and both sides appear interested, so keep an eye on this situation to see if it winds up coming to fruition.
