We have almost reached the NFL Draft, so we only have about a week left to overanalyze prospects and gawk over game highlights and Pro Days to figure out which players are going to take the league by storm and which ones are going to flame out.
Dan Orlovsky is just like all of us, and he had high praise for Michigan quarterback and national champion J.J. McCarthy after going through some of his game tape.
Orlovsky posted one particular highlight throw on Twitter where McCarthy threw a 45+ yard pass across the field to a running back deep down the left sideline and said he “won’t agree with people or the sentiment McCarthy isn’t highly highly physically talented,” but added he is “not perfect, has flaws.”
You like 45+ yard ropes across the field perfectly thrown?

Some analysts have knocked McCarthy for playing in a perfect system and not putting up eye-popping numbers last season, but he started to change people’s minds with his stellar Pro Day performance where he showed he is capable of making any throw on the field.
In this clip, Orlovsky gushed over his ability to throw a go route to a running back, calling it a “remarkably good throw” and adding: “You might sit here and say that he benefited from a great offense, to say that he’s not elite physically talented both athletically and as a thrower, I can’t agree with that.”
McCarthy’s stock has risen drastically and he could find himself being selected in the top 5 next week, as many teams are being rumored to be working to trade up.
