Now, more than ever, the NFL has become a quarterback’s league.
That has always been a crucial position, but it’s never been more important than it is nowadays.
That’s why teams are so desperately eager to find the next big thing at the position and why they often rush to throw them into the fire or dispose of them.
Throughout the course of the years, we’ve seen countless prospects who looked like potential superstars be out of the league after a couple of seasons.
As a matter of fact, former NFL QB Chase Daniel revealed that around 40% of first-round quarterbacks fizzle out of the league in three years or so (via Ross Tucker Podcast).

Needless to say, that doesn’t bode well for this class, as there are as many as six potential first-round selections at the quarterback position.
Daniel argues that it takes more than just talent to find success in the league, adding that all the little things matter.
He stated that he didn’t know whether it was related to the coaching staff, scouts, decision-makers, or personnel, but it is so hard to evaluate a quarterback.
Back in the day, it was usual for quarterbacks to sit out for a year or two before even thinking of taking the field, with a few exceptions.
Now, these young guys are thrown into the fire right away, and that doesn’t always help with their development.
Hopefully, this year will be the exception to this worrisome trend, as there’s just too much talent.
