The New England Patriots have been the most successful team in the NFL over the past two decades.
While the past few years haven’t been as successful as they would have hoped, losing Tom Brady was inevitably going to cause some production issues for this team.
Many believed that Bill Belichick could help turn the team around over time, but the front office appeared to disagree with this analysis.
They moved on from Belichick in favor of Jerod Mayo, hoping they could turn things around with a new, younger head coach with fresh ideas.
While it might have been the right time to add a new coach into the fold, the Patriots essentially kicked Belichick to the curb.
They did not seem to even ask him to be a team consultant, something the Seattle Seahawks did with Pete Carroll.
After seeing this treatment of Belichick from the Patriots, Nick Wright took to his show, “What’s Wright?” to discuss his frustrations.
“Your franchise is worth billions more dollars than when you bought it, thanks to him,” Wright said, also adding, “This is one of the slimiest things I’ve ever seen.”
Is the Bill Belichick-Patriots relationship officially over?

Wright believes that Robert Kraft and the rest of the front office would be nowhere without Belichick, and they should have, at minimum, treated him with respect.
He doesn’t think that is the case and is frustrated that Belichick doesn’t have a job anywhere in the NFL, especially with the Patriots.
There have been rumors that Belichick might return to the NFL in 2025, but it remains to be seen if he’ll attempt a comeback.
