The NFL Draft is just under a week away, and quarterback talk is really heating up.
On Friday morning, NFL Network analyst and Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner joined ESPN’s Get Up to chat about the top signal-callers in this year’s draft.
More specifically, he talked about why Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels should be selected by the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 overall pick.
Here is what the former Super Bowl champion had to say:
“Last year, on film, I don’t think there was a quarterback in College Football that played better week in, week out, had some of those games that you just sit back and go ‘wow’…I believe Jayden Daniels has to be that guy at the No. 2 pick,” Warner said.

With almost everyone expecting the Chicago Bears to select USC’s Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, that should open the door for Washington at No. 2 to take Daniels.
In almost all respects, Daniels was the most complete player in America last season, which is what Warner is alluding to.
The aforementioned Heisman Trophy winner was also named AP College Football Player of the Year after finishing in the top five among qualified starters in passing yards, passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, and QBR.
Not to mention the fact that he rushed for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground too.
If Warner is right and Washington decides to go with the do-it-all quarterback from Baton Rouge, it has a chance to be a very special pick.
With the Commanders entering a new era under the recently-hired Dan Quinn, they will look to solidify their future under center with a splash at No. 2.
