It’s not NFL Draft season without Todd McShay and Mel Kiper, as the two experts have brought us years of comfort, fun, and knowledge during draft broadcasts and making sure we as fans don’t lose our minds as our teams go through such drastic change.
Unfortunately, the former will not be with us to walk us through each pick this year, so we’ll have to dig a little deeper to get our McShay fix this draft season.
McShay took to X this week to thank fans and announce that he’s “sitting this one out on TV due to obvious contract limitations” but reiterated that it’s “business as usual around here” as he will be doing the rounds on different shows and podcasts leading up to the draft.
Just want to take a minute to say thank you! The outpouring of support during draft season has been noticed and greatly appreciated.
As for next week’s draft, I’m sitting this one out on TV due to obvious contract limitations but it’s business as usual around here! You can…

Kiper and McShay together was always one of the best parts of watching the draft, so it’s a shame we won’t get to hear them go back and forth this year.
McShay began working at ESPN in 2006 and was fired in June of 2023, and while ESPN is rolling out a loaded crew for the draft featuring Mike Greenberg, Kiper, Booger McFarland, Louis Riddick, Molly McGrath, and Adam Schefter, nobody can replace McShay.
This draft looks like it will be a fun one, with so many teams looking for quarterbacks, and so many big-name QB prospects available.
That could lead to a lot of trades and a lot of screen time for Kiper.
Hopefully, with all that camera time, he can give us one good, “TODD!” for good measure.
