Quarterback, wide receiver, and offensive tackle are all the rage this year in the NFL Draft, while some other positions aren’t getting quite as much attention as they deserve due to the star power at the glamour positions.
One insider says two other positions on offense will have their moments in the third round this year.
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah posted on Twitter that the third round is going to be the “sweet spot” for running back and tight end this year.
The 3rd round is going to be the sweet spot for RB & TE this year.

Aside from Georgia’s Brock Bowers, who is projected to be selected within the top 10-15 picks, there aren’t very many names at either RB or TE being tossed around as potential first-round picks.
It’s a far cry from last year, as Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs both went in the top-12 picks despite many teams choosing not to invest highly in the running back position anymore.
Dalton Kincaid was last year’s only first-round tight end, while four more went in the second round, including Sam LaPorta and Michael Mayer right near the top of Round 2.
Some of the best RB prospects who could go first off the board are Texas’ Jonathon Brooks, Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright, Michigan’s Blake Corum, Oregon’s Bucky Irving, and Florida State’s Trey Benson.
Texas’ Ja’Tavion Sanders and Iowa’s Erick All are two of the biggest tight end prospects outside of Bowers, who is leagues ahead of the field this year.
We’re all excited about the upcoming draft, and RB/TE fans will have their moment, though they might have to wait until Day 2 or Day 3.
