The New England Patriots have made a lot of headlines off the field this offseason, between the Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft situation that reportedly led to Belichick not getting the head coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons, as well as the infamous documentary that was released covering the Patriots dynasty of the 2000s.
The common denominator between the two was that both the Kraft story with the Falcons and the documentary made Belichick look bad, and one current player is not a fan of it.
Khari Thompson of Boston.com shared that Pats wide receiver Kendrick Bourne thought the documentary was “awful” because of how bad it made Belichick look, via Dov Kleiman.

“I think it’s awful too, honestly. It’s just a lot. It made Bill look bad and I love Bill. I love everything he stood for. It was just kind of crazy… https://t.co/p4pRUAyyOU pic.twitter.com/BqBRWXVUMh

Bourne added that, “It made Bill look bad and I love Bill. I love everything he stood for. It was just kind of crazy how it made him look.”
Bourne signed with the Patriots in 2021 and immediately put up a career-high 800 receiving yards and five touchdowns, so he owes a lot to the coach who first took a chance on him as a starter in the NFL.
A lot of fans felt the same way about the documentary, as it did not paint Belichick in a good light, much the same way that Kraft reportedly did by telling Falcons owner Arthur Blank that Belichick wasn’t the best choice to lead the team.
The 6-time Super Bowl champion has had a rough offseason getting buried by so many people on his way out of New England, and it’ll be interesting to see what his next move is or if he responds to any of this bad press.
