It’s fair to say that Jets backup quarterback Zach Wilson isn’t exactly coveted throughout the league.
After three disappointing seasons to start his young career, Wilson has been the subject of trade discussions this offseason.
However, it is very hard to imagine teams lining up for his services, especially after he posted a 23/25 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last three years.
On Monday morning, NFL analyst Ross Tucker had his take on the idea of Zach Wilson being traded:
“Nobody really wants Zach Wilson…He’s not really the ideal veteran backup…He’s not really a developmental No. 3…And certainly, nobody wants to pay him the $5.4 million guaranteed that he’s due this year,” Tucker said on his podcast (Ross Tucker Podcast).
“Nobody wants Zach Wilson, especially for $5.4M fully guaranteed…”
“The Jets are going to have to eat a decent amount of that money or else it’ll be like a Brock Osweiler trade where Jets give up a pick to get his contract off their books…”@GoodRanchers pic.twitter.com/Vz4V9qj9EK

Teams have gotten a chance to see the Zach Wilson product.
Spoiler alert: It isn’t anything to write home about.
When a quarterback only has one season with more touchdown passes than interceptions out of his first three years in the league after getting drafted No. 2 overall, there is a problem.
Now, Wilson is still just 24 years of age.
He also sat behind and eventually played for Aaron Rodgers for a season.
He has gained some knowledge and still has some ability that can keep him in the league.
But again, who is willing to eat that $5.4 million?
Perhaps a team with an already-starter like the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Detroit Lions would consider a move.
But, the former BYU star definitely needs a change of scenery because at this point, his play has shown that he is worth nothing more than a late-round pick.
