The New York Mets have to be disgusted with how their season ended up.
Coming into the 2023 season, the Mets were on the shortlist of teams that could compete for the World Series.
They made a few key moves in the offseason, which many thought could take them over the top.
Instead, the season was a complete disaster.
They won 75 games and finished nine games out of a playoff spot.
One player who played great this season despite the team results was Francisco Lindor.
The star shortstop had his first career 30/30 season.
Also, it appears he was putting up these numbers with an elbow injury.
According to Steve Gelbs, Lindor underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.
The Mets announce that Francisco Lindor underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow yesterday. He is expected to be fully ready for Spring Training.

It is uncertain how long he was playing with that bone spur but it did not affect his play.
Whenever a player has surgery it is less than ideal.
But, there are no concerns for Lindor when it comes to being ready for Spring Training.
After his first year in New York, many Mets fans were ready to get rid of Lindor.
He just signed a massive contract with them and he failed to reach the massive expectations in year one.
Since then he has been nothing but great for the Mets.
Lindor is their shortstop of the future and someone they will continue to build around.
There is no question the Mets need to make some moves this offseason.
But, Lindor has proven to be well worth the money they invested.
