It’s no secret that quarterback is one of the most sought-after positions in the 2024 NFL Draft.
This year’s class is said to be one of the best in recent years, which gives teams a glimmer of hope for their future.
Having a solid quarterback can be the difference between a team that makes the playoffs and a team that makes a run at the quarterback position.
While there are a few obvious QB-needy teams heading into the draft like the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots, there are also a few teams that could make a surprise push to add someone at the position.
Ian Rapoport appeared on NFL Total Access to discuss this, giving his rationale for the New York Giants to trade up for a quarterback.
“I think it’s pretty clear, the Giants have been at least examining the potential of adding a franchise quarterback, having him sit for a year behind Daniel Jones,” Rapoport said.

Rapoport also highlighted the fact that the Giants have been one of the most active teams when it comes to studying the top quarterback prospects.
They have worked tirelessly to bring in these quarterbacks, hoping to get the best possible read on them and make the best possible decision.
Daniel Jones is still under contract, but, as Rapoport mentions, the Giants could draft a rookie, give them a year to learn the team system and what it is like to be in the NFL, then letting them compete for the starting job with Jones.
