The New England Patriots haven’t always been transparent with their intentions in the NFL Draft.
But now, their current situation and position make it blatantly obvious that they’re looking forward to getting a quarterback with the No. 3 pick.
This happens to be one of the most QB-rich classes in recent NFL history, which is why those top-tier picks are so valuable.
With that in mind, they would only consider moving back for a Godfather-like offer they cannot refuse.
However, a report by Karen Guregian and Mark Daniels reveals that as much as the Patriots have gotten many calls regarding his pick, most of them have been “laughable” and not even worthy of consideration (via Carlos Talks Pats).
The #Patriots have been listening to calls for the third overall pick, but the offers they have received to this point have been “laughable” and nowhere near enough to make New England move the pick, per @kguregian & @ByMarkDaniels.

As of now, it seems like the Patriots are going to stay put at No. 3.
The Patriots have been tied with UNC prospect Drake Maye for most of the process.
Maye’s physical traits, athleticism, and speed make him one of the most promising young quarterbacks to enter the league in quite a while.
Nonetheless, there are still some doubts about his mechanics and his accuracy, and he could also be the rawest of all prospects.
The Patriots have a proven veteran mentor in Jacoby Brissett, and he could hold down the fort and be their starter for a year while they get Maye ready to play.
Then again, with the draft approaching, there’s always a chance that other teams will get desperate enough to make a better offer for that highly-coveted No. 3 pick.
