The Kansas City Chiefs knew they had to do right by their Super Bowl-winning coach, and so they did.
Despite his age, Andy Reid has proven that he’s still relevant in this game, and he continues to come back to coach despite all the rumors about his potential retirement.
So, if he wants to keep coaching and the players and the front office still want him there — which they clearly do — it only made sense that they gave him a long-term contract extension.
Now, Reid has an opportunity to do what seemed impossible years ago, which is to become the winningest head coach in NFL history.
With that in mind, sports analyst Nick Wright predicted that’s going to happen, and that’s going to cement him as the greatest coach of all time.
Talking on First Things First, Wright established that Reid is definitely on pace to pass both Bill Belichick and Don Shula, as he only needs to average 12 wins per season for the next six years.
“If Andy Reid finishes this contract, he will not only catch Bill Belichick he will catch Don Shula.”

He knows that he’s going to pass Belichick in playoff wins, and he has a legitimate shot at tying him or passing him in Super Bowl wins as well.
On top of that, Wright believes Reid won’t have an asterisk next to those numbers, unlike Belichick, who has failed before and after Tom Brady and was involved in several controversies and cheating scandals.
Everyone loves Coach Reid, and if health allows him to stay on the sidelines and keep coaching, he’s likely going to break all the marks.
