The New Orleans Saints once found plenty of success with a quarterback another team didn’t want.
Sean Payton and Drew Brees had an epic run together in the Big Easy, even winning a Super Bowl.
Of course, that’s not the same situation with Zach Wilson, but now that the Denver Broncos have taken a chance on him, perhaps history could repeat itself.
At least, that’s what Peyton Manning hopes.
Talking about Wilson’s arrival in Mile High, the Hall of Famer claimed that the best way to mess up a young quarterback is to constantly change his offensive coordinator (Via Rich Cimini).
“The best way to really screw a young quarterback up is to change coordinators on him every single year, and it drives me crazy,” Manning said.
Some interesting comments on Zach Wilson from Peyton Manning, who welcome the former #Jets QB to Denver:

He now hopes that he finds some continuity, working under Payton and his coaching staff.
Truth be told, Wilson is just 24 years old, and there are quarterback prospects who will enter the NFL Draft at that same age.
Granted, his game hasn’t been good at all, but it’s not like he was put in a position to succeed, either.
Wilson is young, and young quarterbacks with a strong arm can always be molded.
Coach Payton may have liked what he saw from him; otherwise, he wouldn’t have traded for him, especially considering his contract situation.
And while he’s going to have to compete with Jarrett Stidham, Ben DiNucci, and most likely a first-round pick, they should all start from scratch and have pretty much the same chance to get the job.
This could be the end of the line for him, but sometimes, a change of scenery is just what players need to be at their best.
