With the start of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft getting underway tomorrow, the speculation about a potential trade at the top of the draft has hit an all-time high, as many believe that some fireworks may take place with teams anxiously trying to get who they have atop their draft boards.
Although there’s been a lot of buzz about the New York Jets wanting to draft tight end Brock Bowers out of the University of Georgia, giving superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers another solid target in the passing game next season, it seems as though the team could be trying to move up in the draft.
The Jets currently own the No. 10 overall pick on Thursday, and that might be right around where Bowers could land, but there’s also a chance that New York could be going after a stud wide receiver, like Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze.
In order to land one of those three potential game-changing wide receivers, the Jets will more than likely have to move up, which it seems the team is actively trying to do, with taking Bowers at No. 10 possibly being the team’s backup plan.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the Jets are “exploring” trading up in the draft for a playmaker via Paul Andrew Esden Jr. of The Score 1260.
Rich Cimini of ESPN said, “The #Jets are exploring” a trade-up for a playmaker in round 1 of the 2024 #NFLDraft.

All three of those wide receivers mentioned could very well go in the top nine picks in the draft on April 25, as this draft class is filled with potential game-changing talent at the position.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets move up and whether they can get their hands on a stud receiver as a result.
