The Green Bay Packers went from one Hall of Famer at the quarterback position to another.
Needless to say, that puts a lot of pressure on Jordan Love to be the next big thing to rule Lambeau Field.
And while the early returns of his stint as QB1 were fairly encouraging, he hasn’t looked the part in the past couple of games.
That’s why sports pundit Chris “Mad Dog” Russo is absolutely certain that he won’t be the next great quarterback for the Packers.
In his recent appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” Russo stated that Love was “awful” vs. the Las Vegas Raiders and that he’s never been very impressive, not even during his days at Utah State.
.@MadDogUnleashed doesn’t believe Jordan Love will be the Packers’ next great QB
“Absolutely not. He’s been awful. … If anybody’s going to sit there right now and tell me that what they have seen out of Jordan Love, that he’s a big time player, where have you seen it?” pic.twitter.com/psUn2aw356

Russo said that no one has ever seen him being a “big-time” player, and he has been less than impressed with his performances for Matt LaFleur’s team thus far.
Through five weeks, the former first-round pick has thrown for 1,083 yards, completing 55.6% of his passes with eight touchdowns, six interceptions, 6.7 yards per pass, and a QBR of 77.3.
He’s shown glimpses of great play, and it’s also worth noting that the Packers have had multiple injuries on both sides of the field, but he’s left plenty to be desired in his past two games.
The Packers are sitting on a 2-3 record, and while it’s still early in the season, they look far behind the Detroit Lions for the top of the division.
Even so, it’s early to count Love out, and they need to give him more time to prove his worth.
