The Washington Commanders have been desperately searching for a franchise quarterback for a few years.
After going through a massive cultural shift and an ownership change, the team is looking to start fresh, especially at this marquee position.
Thankfully, the Commanders hold the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which could turn this dream into a reality.
There has been much talk about the Commanders targeting Jayden Daniels, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, with this pick.
Daniels recently spoke with John Clark of NBC Sports, talking about what being drafted by the Commanders would mean.
“It’ll be fun to be able to go there and fulfill my childhood dream,” Daniels said.

This indicates that Daniels is not only aware of the hype surrounding him being taken by the Commanders, but he seems to have embraced the reality of this happening.
The Commanders have developed a young core of players on both offense and defense and with a quarterback like Daniels at the helm, they could be in a great position to succeed.
It won’t be smooth sledding for this team, however, given the fact that their competition in the NFC East has only gotten more difficult over the past few years.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have both been consistent playoff teams, and the New York Giants seem to also be on an upward trajectory.
It will be interesting to see how the 2024 campaign plays out for the Commanders and, if they do draft Daniels, what the team will look like in his rookie season.
