Without great analysts and network talent, true fans can’t get a great perspective on the top prospects in the NFL Draft.
One of the best analysts to follow along with during the NFL Draft is ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.
The Baltimore native started helping out with ESPN’s draft coverage back in 1984.
Former ESPN draft analyst and reporter Todd McShay made it a point Thursday to give Kiper his flowers before he works his 46th career NFL Draft and 41st for the network.
McShay tweeted an image of a goat Thursday morning calling him the greatest of all time in his line of work.

By all accounts, Kiper is the authority on all things NFL Draft.
He isn’t your average football analyst that discusses why a team won or lost or the importance of a player’s legacy.
He looks at college players and how they can fit into each team’s current state.
It’s the measurables and the statistics that he looks at from high school and college to come up with a final conclusion.
Like ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer tweeted, this is Kiper’s Super Bowl.
Once the draft is over, he starts his process all over again by analyzing and evaluating the next crop of potential NFL talent.
This is a man that bleeds scouting reports and doesn’t care about anything but football.
As the NFL Draft kicks off in Detroit on Thursday night, the 63-year-old will be there like he always is.
Fans should settle in for a great night of commentary from the all-time legend.
