Seattle Mariners Prepare Power-Packed Coaching Team for Low-A Modesto Nuts
The Seattle Mariners have not held back in assembling a formidable coaching staff for their Low-A affiliate, the Modesto Nuts. This strategic move comes as the team gears up for what could potentially be a monumental season before undergoing a transformative relocation.
New Faces at the Helm
In a recent announcement on January 16, the Seattle Mariners revealed the lineup of coaches who will guide the Modesto Nuts through their upcoming season. Leading the pack is the newly appointed manager, Luis Caballero, stepping into this pivotal role as the team’s cornerstone undergoes significant changes.
A Stellar Support Crew
Assisting Caballero in steering the team to potential glory are a group of seasoned professionals brought together to enhance the Nuts’ performance. Josh Morgan will take on the role of bench coach, while Brock Stassi will be responsible for honing the team’s hitting prowess. The pitching coach position will be filled by Jakob Witt, with Luke Carlson overseeing strength and conditioning. Additionally, Blake Wooten will serve as the athletic trainer, and Cameron Werme will join as an athletic training fellow.
A Legacy in Transition
The upcoming season holds particular significance for the Modesto Nuts as they prepare to bid farewell to their current identity. Following the acquisition of the team by Diamond Baseball Holdings, the Nuts are set to relocate to San Bernardino, California, in 2026, adopting a new persona as the Inland Empire 66ers. However, before this transformation takes place, the team aims to etch its mark in history by vying for a third consecutive California League championship.
Aiming for Triple Crown Glory
With notable talents like switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje and right-handed pitcher Ryan Sloan joining the ranks, the Modesto Nuts are primed for a season filled with promise and potential. The prospect of securing a third consecutive championship looms large, serving as a fitting crescendo to the team’s legacy before embarking on a new chapter in San Bernardino.
As the Mariners strategically position themselves for success both on and off the field, the stage is set for a season of transition, transformation, and triumph for the Modesto Nuts.
