The days of the Chicago Bears struggling to maintain any substantial success may be over.
They added two potential franchise cornerstones on Thursday in the first round of the NFL draft: University of Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze from the University of Washington.
Williams has been described as a generational talent, and unlike most quarterbacks who are taken very high in the draft, he will have the type of talent around him that will allow him to thrive right away.
In fact, Nick Wright said on Fox Sports 1’s “First Things First” that not only will the Bears win at least 10 games in 2024, but that Williams will be the NFC’s best signal-caller and lead the Bears to a Super Bowl appearance within the next few years.
.@getnickwright‘s expectation for Caleb Williams & the Bears
“I’d be shocked if by the end of his 3rd year he’s not the best QB in the NFC & I’d bet money that they play in a Super Bowl before the end of his rookie deal.” pic.twitter.com/pflHK8kdZp

For most of the last 30 years, the Bears have struggled, and they haven’t had a truly elite quarterback since Sid Luckman all the way back in the 1940s.
Even when they won the Super Bowl in the 1985 season with one of the most memorable teams ever, they had a good but not great QB in Jim McMahon and won mostly with arguably the greatest defense in NFL history.
But now, they look absolutely loaded on offense.
Williams and Odunze join a group that already had D.J. Moore, a productive wide receiver, and veteran wideout Keenan Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler they acquired in free agency weeks ago.
There may not be a Super Bowl parade through the Loop anytime soon, but at least Chicago’s devoted fans will have an NFL team that will be exciting and will give them pride.
