It’s been a while since Los Angeles Chargers fans had so many reasons to be excited about their team.
Jim Harbaugh arriving in SoFi Stadium is more than enough reason to celebrate, and the team has done quite well in the NFL Draft thus far.
Notably, it wasn’t easy to pull that off.
Harbaugh lives and dies for the Michigan Wolverines, and luring him out of Ann Arbor was a complicated task.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see the National Championship coach singing the Wolverines’ fight song to get himself pumped up during the NFL Draft.

Most analysts thought the Chargers would trade down from No. 5, as the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants were reportedly trying to get J.J. McCarthy.
Instead, they got Justin Herbert’s new best friend, taking OT Joe Alt out of Notre Dame, the most talented and exciting lineman in an offensive lineman-heavy draft.
He’s got Hall of Fame potential and is a physical force to be reckoned with, and the Chargers desperately needed someone who could keep their prized quarterback out of danger.
Then, they gave Herbert another elite young wide receiver by taking Ladd McConkey out of Georgia, a first-round-caliber talent who fell right to their laps in the second round.
The Chargers added a familiar face in Michigan LB Junior Colson in the third round, and he should be a seamless fit to their defense given his familiarity with new defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who will look to finally bring the best out of the team’s underperforming defense.
