The 2024 NFL Draft is almost a wrap, and three years from now, a lot of people are going to be without a job because of the decisions they made during these three days
On the flip side, others are going to look like absolute geniuses for the value they found in the later rounds of the event.
Unsurprisingly, that’s currently the case with Andy Reid and Howie Roseman, who took a chance on a big kid from the University of Cincinnati when no one else did.
In the latest episode of New Heights, Jason Kelce told his brother Travis and Patrick Mahomes his draft-day story.
He revealed that he always knew that he wasn’t going to be taken until at least day three, with only the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams, and Philadelphia Eagles showing an interest in his services.

Once the Chiefs got their guy in the second round, he knew they were no longer a possibility, and it wasn’t until the sixth round that he finally got that call.
He recalled that Andy Reid told him that he was going to hand the phone to the GM and Offensive Coordinator first before announcing the pick.
Reid later asked him to repeat what he had just said, to which Jason said he didn’t remember.
The coach then called him out and let him know that he was going to be playing in front of 75,000 people, so he would need him to be more dialed in, yet Kelce didn’t even know how to respond, as his father was right in front of him, crying.
Kelce was the No. 191 pick, and he ended up becoming arguably the greatest center of all time.
It’s never about when you’re taken; it’s about what you do after that.
