Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has made a lot of eye-opening picks in the NFL Draft in recent years, and he has earned himself the benefit of the doubt by taking so many players who have turned into foundational pieces on both sides of the ball.
After Day 2 of the draft, Roseman spoke with the media and heaped praise upon his most recent selection.
Roseman said that new Eagles edge rusher Jalyx Hunt has “freaky tools in his body” and called him a “perfect developmental guy for us.”

Hunt was selected 94th overall out of Houston Christian where in two years, he put up 13.5 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, and five forced fumbles.
Hunt began his college career at Cornell where he was a 6’2″, 195-pound safety and he finished it as a 6’4″, 252-pound edge rusher that got him selected in the third round of the draft.
Philadelphia needed more depth at edge rusher after losing Haason Reddick in a trade to the New York Jets this offseason, though they did sign Bryce Huff to replace him.
Outside of Huff, there’s not a ton of talent at the position, so Hunt fills a need and could play right away.
The Eagles have seven picks on Day 3 of the draft to continue to fill out this roster, so Roseman will have a lot of work to do.
Hunt was the third pick the Eagles made after taking a pair of corners in Quinyon Mitchell out of Toledo and Cooper DeJean out of Iowa in the first two rounds.
