The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t need to make flashy moves to be one of the biggest winners of the offseason, and particularly of the NFL Draft.
They had already begun their offensive overhaul by bringing in Arthur Smith to be their next offensive coordinator, followed by the acquisitions of quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Now, with the NFL Draft in the books, lifelong draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. praised him for absolutely acing the event.
In his latest column on ESPN, Kiper Jr. gave Omar Khan’s decisions an A- grade (via Blitzburgh).

He praised them for getting a foundational piece for their offensive line by drafting Troy Fautanu with the No. 20 selection.
Kiper Jr. called him a ‘tenacious blocker’ with the potential to be an All-Pro, and while he had him ranked as his No. 1 guard in this class, he added that some executives believe he could also excel at left tackle, where he also played in college at Washington.
The Steelers had one of the worst offenses in the league last season and during OC Matt Canada’s entire tenure there.
Their quarterback situation was far from ideal, and they now have two veterans looking to prove that they still belong in this league.
Their defense was already on point, and they still have one of the savviest and most intelligent coaches in the game in Mike Tomlin, so this team should be a legitimate dark horse to come out of the AFC North Division in the next couple of seasons.
