Entering the 2024 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills had several needs they needed to address on the roster after they made some tough decisions in the offseason.
The Bills started Day 1 with the No. 28 overall pick, but wound up trading back with the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, GM Brandon Beane decided to move back one more spot and out of the first round altogether.
Buffalo’s first selection of the draft came on Day 2 when they took wide receiver Keon Coleman at No. 33 overall.
Beane then decided to address the defense by taking Cole Bishop at No. 60 and followed it up by selecting DeWayne Carter at No. 95 overall.
There was a clear strategy in place to take care of key positions of need and Mel Kiper Jr. gave the Bills a solid grade for their haul, via Ryan Talbot of NYup.com.
“B,” Kiper wrote. “This is a good haul, not a great one, and I’m rooting for Coleman to turn into a WR1 in Buffalo so my guy Josh Allen wins an MVP.”

A “B” grade sounds about right for Buffalo who didn’t reach on many players but also passed up on some value in the earlier rounds of the draft.
However, grades are purely subjective and it isn’t fair to judge the Bills’ draft class until they hit the field and show what they can do.
Of all the players selected. Coleman has the clearest path to playing time considering the team traded away Stefon Diggs and let Gabe Davis walk in free agency.
It’ll be interesting to watch how Coleman and the rest of the group performs in their rookie years.
