The Dallas Cowboys wanted and needed a star running back, and they got themselves one.
Well, at least, that would be the case if this were 2017.
As rumored, the Cowboys have agreed to terms with Ezekiel Elliott to bring him back to the organization.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that the deal is still pending a physical.
Reunion: Three-time Pro Bowl RB Ezekiel Elliott agreed to terms with the #Cowboys pending physical, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
With Tony Pollard gone and Elliott coming off a strong finish to his lone season in New England, it’s time to Feed Zeke again in Dallas. pic.twitter.com/AvIGnUjYxM

Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long before fans from all fan bases took to Twitter to share their thoughts on this reunion.

Elliott finished his lone season with the New England Patriots as the starter, making the most of Rhamondre Stevenson’s injury and showing that he still had some juice left in the tank.
Nonetheless, he’s not getting any younger, and his last three seasons with the Cowboys were far from impressive.
Elliott lost his starting spot to Tony Pollard, who ended up leaving in free agency after a disappointing campaign of his own.
The Cowboys didn’t offer Elliott another contract in the offseason because they didn’t want to disrespect him, and he had to wait until training camp to get a chance to stay in the league and prove that he could still be a factor.
Of course, Elliott was a strong presence in the locker room and a beloved teammate, and he most definitely earned the opportunity to head back home and finish the season with America’s team.
But from that to being the guy they need to carry the load in the running game, that’s a completely different issue, and as of now, it just doesn’t seem like the Cowboys have a true RB1.
