After the 2023 NFL season was officially over, with the Kansas City Chiefs becoming the first team since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots to win back-to-back Super Bowls, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles decided it was time to call it a career.
With the Eagles’ longtime starting center flirting with retirement for many years now, it came as no surprise that he would walk away after the 2023 campaign, especially after Philadelphia flamed out the way it did in the NFL playoffs.
However, it appears Jason’s brother Travis Kelce has a few more years left in him, as it was announced on Monday that he has signed a lucrative contract extension with the Chiefs, which adds two more years to his deal, meaning he’ll play through the 2027 NFL season.
After the news was announced on Monday, Travis Kelce took to the “New Heights” Twitter account to express his excitement about signing the new extension to stay in Kansas City for what presumably will be the rest of his playing career.
“BACK AT IT AGAIN,” the show tweeted along with a video.

Although Kelce seemed to lose a step during this past regular season and came only 16 receiving yards shy of reaching 1,000 for what would’ve been the eighth straight year, the Chiefs superstar is still worth every penny he will be paid during this extension, as he remains one of the best tight ends in the game.
With Kelce’s future secure with the Chiefs moving forward, Kansas City will aim to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight titles next season, keeping this team’s legacy as a dynasty.
