The Chicago Bears have a long history of struggles.
They’ve never had a franchise-caliber quarterback, and it’s been a long while since they were even a borderline playoff team.
And while they showed glimpses of improvement, especially defensively, last season, this might be the year they finally take a leap forward.
Needless to say, a lot of that has to do with the trade they made last season with the Carolina Panthers.
Getting the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft not only gave them the opportunity to land a generational talent like Caleb Williams, it also allowed them to get him a potential star WR in Rome Udonze.
That’s why, after looking at all the moves and additions they made during the offseason, NFL analyst John Middlekauff believes that trade could go down as one of the greatest of all time (via The Volume).

While Colin Cowherd acknowledged that the Green Bay Packers are also a better team, he doesn’t think the Bears will even look the same moving forward.
This could be a franchise-changing move.
The Bears have one of the most loyal fan bases in all sports, and they’ve been through more than enough.
They now have an elite offensive core of Williams, Udonze, Cole Kmet, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and D’Andre Swift, as well as a solid front seven on defense.
It might take them a while, and the offensive line is still a concern, but this team could make plenty of noise for years to come.
