The Dallas Cowboys had the most disappointing offseason in the entire league.
They were the only team in the NFC East Division that didn’t get better.
If anything, they may have even gotten worse.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton predicted that they would finish dead last in their division next season.
“The Cowboys are going to come in dead last in the NFC East,” Carton said.

In the latest edition of The Carton Show, he stated that even the Washington Commanders would finish ahead of them.
Of course, that could be a bit of an overstatement.
The Commanders did get better, and they landed one of the most promising quarterback prospects we’ve seen in a while, but he’s still a rookie, and they will go through some major changes with Dan Quinn and Kliff Kingsbury; that takes time.
The New York Giants finished last season strong, and while there are obvious and major concerns about Daniel Jones, they do have a stout defense, and they added talent to the wide receivers corps with Malik Nabers.
The Philadelphia Eagles are still one of the most talented teams in the game, and they were one of the biggest winners of the offseason in free agency, the NFL Draft, and even with the assistant coaches they hired.
The Cowboys could still finish No. 2 in the division out of talent alone, and we’ve already seen them dominate in the regular season over and over.
However, from that to being a legitimate Super Bowl candidate, that just seems unlikely, especially considering their long history of shortcomings in the postseason.
