With a make-or-break season ahead of them, the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to make moves.
This time, however, they’re not adding more talent but actually getting rid of some players.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the team has released K Joey Slye and WR Zay Jones.

Slye was signed as a free agent weeks ago, but with the team drafting Cam Little, there’s no room for him anymore.
Jones entered the league in 2017.
He was taken by the Buffalo Bills early in the second round that year.
After two years in Buffalo, he was traded to the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders in 2019, spending two-and-a-half years there before signing a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was one of their best offensive players in 2022, logging a career-high 82 grabs with 823 receiving yards, including an epic 59-yard touchdown to keep the team in contention for a postseason berth.
Still, he’s coming off dealing with multiple injuries, finishing with just 34 grabs for 321 yards and two scores in nine appearances (seven starts) last season.
The Jaguars will now save $4.2 million in cap space, and they’ll head into the upcoming campaign with a WR room consisting of Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Devin Duvernay, Elijah Cooks, Parker Washington, and first-round rookie Brian Thomas Jr., who should have a big role right out of the gate.
