The Philadelphia Eagles have had an almost perfect offseason.
They revamped both sides of the field, got A.J. Brown to sign a contract extension, and hired veteran and proven offensive and defensive coordinators to both give Nick Sirianni a big hand.
That’s why sports analyst Craig Carton believes they’re currently the second-best team in the NFC.
In the latest edition of The Carton Show, he acknowledged that the San Francisco 49ers are still at the top of the list, but he didn’t agree with oddsmakers, as they had the Detroit Lions ahead of the Eagles.
“The Eagles are the 2nd best team in the NFC.”

He thinks the offseason they had and what they did in the NFL Draft, especially in terms of their secondary defense, is more than enough to put them at No. 2.
However, he did acknowledge that the NFC North Division might now be the second-best division in the league right now, at least from a depth standpoint.
The Lions are a strong Super Bowl contender, but we cannot ignore what the Green Bay Packers did last season.
Now, the Chicago Bears are ready to join the party as well, boasting a revamped offense with the additions of Keenan Allen, D’Andre Swift, Rome Udonze, and Caleb Williams.
As for the Minnesota Vikings, they should fare better than most people expect them to, even if the jury is still out on J.J. McCarthy and whether he was worth being the No. 10 pick.
