Warren Sapp is one of the most dominant players in the history of the NFL, but we haven’t quite seen him around the game enough since he retired after the 2007 season.
Sapp showed up at the University of Colorado last season to meet with head coach Deion Sanders and his players, and he had such a great time that he made a big promise to Coach Prime.
Sapp spoke with Rich Eisen on his show recently and discussed his visit with the Buffaloes, saying, “For the first time in my life, I was loved on by some defensive linemen. They really infected me, and I told Prime before I left, I said I’m coming back.”
Last year, @WarrenSapp was inspired by the Colorado football players and made a promise to @DeionSanders

Sapp said it was the first time he had young players look to him for advice and try to find the “key to the vault” that made Sapp so great.
It’s a testament to the culture that Sanders built in Colorado so quickly, as his players want to be great and embraced the opportunity to have one of the greatest to ever do it hanging out with them.
It’s shocking that this was the first time Sapp went through an experience like this, as you’d think defensive linemen would be hitting him up left and right to get even a tiny glimpse into what made Sapp such a beast.
Sapp’s accolades as a Hall-of-Famer include a Super Bowl win, seven Pro Bowl selections, four All-Pro selections, a Defensive Player of the Year award, and 96.5 career sacks.
It’s great Sapp had fun, and hopefully with his help, Colorado can do better than 4-8 next year.
