The Houston Texans got themselves a star wide receiver for the upcoming campaign.
However, they were also pretty close to losing another one.
Last weekend, young WR Tank Dell was shot in an altercation in Sanford, Florida.
Fortunately for him, he only suffered minor wounds.
Now, Texans GM Nick Caserio reported that he’s doing very well.
Talking on SportsRadio 610 (via ProFootballTalk), the executive praised Dell and called him a great kid who has done a lot for their program already, adding that both he and HC DeMeco Ryans have been in touch with him.
“Tank is doing great,” Caserio said, via SI.com. “We have had conversations with him. We have visited with him. DeMeco [Ryans] had a chance to talk to him the other day. He is doing okay. Certainly, making progress. He has been in and out of the building. So, right now, he is in a pretty good state of mind. Tank is a great kid. He has done a lot for our program already. Hopefully, things can keep moving in the right direction.”

Dell was also recovering from a broken fibula, and there haven’t been many updates regarding his shot-inflicted wounds.
The Texans added Stefon Diggs to an already promising receiving corps that also featured Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz, John Metchie, and Dell.
CJ Stroud had one of the single-greatest debut campaigns in NFL history, and the team believes they could be a legitimate candidate to come out of the AFC South Division again, which is why the front office spared no effort to get him even more weapons ahead of his sophomore season.
Dell’s status or availability for the start of training camp hasn’t been disclosed to the media yet, but the league-wide expectation is that he’ll be ready to go.
Hopefully, this won’t lead to any lingering issues, and he’s going to be able to focus on what should always be first and foremost, which is football.
This team has too much talent to let off-field issues get in their way to the mountaintop.
