The New England Patriots keep making moves ahead of the upcoming campaign.
With their quarterback for the future already in town, they’re making some tweaks to other parts of the roster.
According to ESPN insider Mike Reiss, the Patriots are adding a veteran kicker in Joey Slye, who was recently cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Patriots and veteran kicker Joey Slye are in agreement on a deal, per sources.
Slye was released by the Jaguars earlier this week. Competition for Chad Ryland.

Per Reiss, he’s expected to compete with former fourth-round draft pick Chad Ryland ahead of his second campaign in the league.
Slye has been in the league for five years.
The 28-year-old has kicked for the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Commanders.
He also spent time with the New York Giants and was signed by the Jaguars this offseason.
Then, with Jacksonville taking Cam Little out of Arkansas in the sixth round of the draft, they decided to part ways with him.
Slye knocked down 79.2% of his field goals last season, missing five kicks.
He’s a career 82.3% field goal scorer, even going 23-for-25 in 2021.
The Patriots need to bounce back, and everybody will have to earn their spot in the first year of the Jerod Mayo era.
