The San Francisco 49ers had struggled with subpar quarterback play for way too long.
Neither Jimmy Garoppolo nor Trey Lance were capable of leading Kyle Shanahan’s offense, constantly holding them back, especially in the playoffs.
That’s no longer the case with Brock “Mr. Irrelevant” Purdy, who’s making less money than some backups around the league, yet he continues to win football games in convincing fashion.
That’s why Skip Bayless went as far as to state that the Iowa State product has a higher ceiling than Tom Brady.
In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” Bayless claimed that he always liked Purdy, but he never loved him.
“So far, Brock Purdy’s rise is even beyond Tom Brady’s. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

He recalled his journey to the NFL, which seemed unlikely, especially considering he wasn’t even invited to the Senior Bowl.
Bayless stated that Brady at least got to sit for a full year and learn the ropes of the game before being thrown into the mix, while Purdy did it as a rookie.
Finally, he pointed out the fact that Purdy is 12-0 in games he’s started and finished in his NFL career, which is honestly insane.
His only loss came in the NFC Championship Game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, a game he left early with an elbow injury.
It’s obviously still too early to give him the nod as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, especially considering we haven’t even seem him in adversity.
But numbers don’t lie, and all this young man does is win football games, regardless of the rival.
