The Los Angeles Rams are entering a new era without their future Hall of Fame defensive tackle.
Aaron Donald made the call to hang up his cleats this offseason after a storied 10-year run with the franchise.
However, GM Les Snead spoke on The Rich Eisen Show Thursday about a scenario where Donald could make a return.
“I did mention to Aaron…there was a player named Eric Weddle…We standard elevated him for four straight games to a Super Bowl championship,” Snead said.

At just 32 years of age, Donald still appears fit to be the elite player that all NFL fans know him to be.
If the Rams were to bring him back for a possible Super Bowl run, it will be interesting to see how hungry he is.
As Snead mentioned, safety Eric Weddle capped off a hopeful Hall of Fame career by helping the Rams win a Super Bowl in 2021.
At the same time, Donald has accomplished everything that can be accomplished at his position.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year and 10-time Pro-Bowler is also a member of the league’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
He recorded 111.0 sacks in his decade with the Rams, which is super impressive for an interior defender.
The former Pittsburgh Panther had at least 11.0 sacks in 6 of his 10 NFL seasons.
If the Canton-bound Donald wants to come back, the door will always be open.
For now, Les Snead, Sean McVay, and the rest of the Rams will have to move forward as if he isn’t coming back.
