The Houston Texans have had the same uniforms since their inception in 2002, and they finally unveiled a change this offseason to usher in a new era for the franchise led by a new crop of stars on both sides of the ball and an exciting young head coach.
J.J. Watt is the biggest star in franchise history, and fortunately for the franchise, he recently gave the new uniforms his stamp of approval.
According to a video shared by KPRC2, Watt spoke about the new uniforms and said “That red helmet is really, really nice” and added “They look good, so I’m looking forward to seeing them play.”

New uniforms for this franchise were long overdue, and they didn’t make any drastic changes aside from adding an icy blue alternate uniform.
No longer will fans watch Texans games and think of the dark early days of the past when David Carr was at the helm.
Fresh off their return to the playoffs and an AFC South division crown led by rookie C.J. Stroud, the unis needed a more modern flare and a slight tweak to keep up with the times.
Watt actually loved the jerseys so much that he didn’t completely shut the door on a potential return to the field, though fans shouldn’t get their hopes up.
The Texans are looking to capitalize on an incredible season and keep the momentum going in some new threads, and bringing in wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason was a great way to do so.
