The Arizona Diamondbacks snuck into the playoffs as the third and final Wild Card team.
In the first round, they took on the NL Central champions, the Milwaukee Brewers.
They proceed to sweep them.
Then they had a date with a division rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the NLDS.
Not many people outside the Diamondbacks clubhouse thought they could win that series.
LA was coming into the series off a bye week and with one of the best rosters in baseball.
None of that mattered to the Diamondbacks.
They gladly accepted the underdog role and thrived with it.
Arizona proceeded to sweep the Dodgers and now head to the NLCS for the first time since 2007.
Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald sent out a tweet about the D-Backs’ upset victory.
He likened it to David taking down Goliath.

Sometimes in the MLB playoffs, it is about which team is playing the best.
Right now, that is the Diamondbacks.
They have played five postseason games and won all five.
Many people are waiting for their magical run to end but they have shown no signs of slowing down.
Now the Diamondbacks await the winner of the Atlanta Braves- Philadelphia Phillies series.
Either way, it seems likely Arizona will be the underdog in the NLCS.
Last season, the Phillies made the World Series from the final Wild Card spot in the NL.
Now the Diamondbacks are hoping to do the same thing.
Maybe there is some magic about being the final team to make the playoffs.
They do not have the best roster, but they seem to be playing great together.
