While the search for the unofficial role of GM continues in New England Wednesday with the Patriots interviewing Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt, the team also has another interview lined up.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, they will be interviewing former Panthers director of player negotiations and salary cap manager Samir Suleiman.
Schefter notes that the interview is for “a football executive job.”

Under the ownership of the Krafts, the Pats have never used a GM.
The “football executive job” is most likely the unofficial GM job that the Patriots are looking to fill.
Especially since the great Bill Belichick, who was the de facto GM for so many years, was let go this offseason, this role is a top priority.
It is already a whole new era in New England with the hiring of first-year head coach Jerod Mayo and rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who they selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft a few weeks ago.
Suleiman started in the NFL as an executive back in 1998 with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a manager of contract information.
He would eventually become a director of football operations with the St. Louis Rams.
Before his eventual time in Carolina with the Panthers, he was the Steelers’ football administration coordinator.
Brandon Hunt is a former scout and executive for several teams, including the Steelers and Texans.
Now, these two are prime candidates to be named the unofficial GM of the Patriots.
Time will tell to see who impresses Robert Kraft the most.
