Coming into the 2023 NFL season, three rookie quarterbacks were named starters right out of the gate, with those three players being three of the first four picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
With Alabama’s Bryce Young thought to be the most NFL-ready quarterback, all eyes have been on the rookie as he tries to turn things around for the Carolina Panthers franchise.
So far, that hasn’t gone well for Young and company, with the Panthers being arguably the worst team in the league and the only team in the NFL without a win after five weeks.
C.J. Stroud, however, has exceeded expectations while being the new face of the Houston Texans franchise, as he has played better than expected and is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year.
The rookie quarterback has shown poise while leading the team like a veteran in his first season, which can be seen in the way he describes this clutch touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons, via Chancellor Johnson of KPRC 2 Houston.

As arguably the best rookie quarterback in the league right now, Stroud looks like he has a bright future in Houston and might be able to turn that franchise around sooner rather than later.
Even though the Texans have only won two out of their first five games of the season, there seems to be a lot of optimism in Houston, as the team feels confident they made the right choice by bringing in the former Ohio State star to be their starter and leader under center moving forward.
