The NFL deciding to schedule games on Christmas Day was a truly great call by the league and not so great for another league known as the NBA.
However, former NFL MVP and analyst Boomer Esiason recently mentioned on his radio show in New York that the league may be looking into selling the rights of the Christmas Day games to Netflix.
“I could be wrong, but I don’t think I am,” Esiason stated on WFAN Sports Radio, via Dov Kleiman.
He also mentioned that Netflix has around 200 million subscribers worldwide and possibly thinks that the league could target that audience.
The NFL may be planning to sell its Christmas Day games to Netflix in the future, per Boomer Esiason

NFL games are seemingly being played everywhere nowadays.
Everyone knows FOX, CBS, ESPN, NBC, and the NFL Network own the rights to the majority of games.
It has been that way for years.
Now, the league is transitioning to the televising of games on certain apps.
Amazon Prime Video is currently the owner of the rights to “Thursday Night Football” and might not be alone in the future with this latest Netflix development.
The way technology continues to evolve and the way the NFL continues to grow, this is not a surprise at all.
However, it would be a true surprise if the league made the complete transition to televise all games through apps in the future.
The game is way more accessible to all fans on regular channels like the major ones listed above.
It would be in the NFL’s best interest to keep most of the games on those channels while also dabbling in other apps that hold millions of subscribers.
