The Chicago Bears have found themselves a star, or so they hope.
For years, scouts and fans raved about Caleb Williams and his potential as a franchise player.
From a football standpoint, there wasn’t anything to dislike about him or think he wouldn’t find success at the next stage of his career.
However, there were some serious concerns and red flags about his character, with some referring to him as a diva or a guy who was too high on himself.
Nevertheless, that hasn’t been the case at all since he was taken with the No. 1 pick.
If anything, it seems like they were wrong all along.
Recently, the USC product drew plenty of praise for his latest take on leadership, as he claimed that he must learn to follow because he’s ready to be a leader, which is why he’s keeping his ears open and his mouth shut as he follows the vets (via Dave BFR).
“To be a great leader, you got to learn how to follow first. Right now, I’m following all the vets.. having both ears open and my mouth shut,” Williams said.
Pretty awesome quote from Caleb Williams on leadership:

It didn’t take long before the fans showed him support on social media, as that’s exactly what you want to hear from your franchise player and future leader.
This is something everyone should take into their jobs and life… 2 ears and one mouth for a reason

There were some red flags about Williams — there always are.
But his talent and skill were just too good to overlook or even make the Bears consider passing on him or trading down from the No. 1 pick.
Hopefully, he’s going to be able to stay healthy and keep this same mindset to become the superstar player scouts and analysts think he can be.
