Even though the first 14 picks of the 2024 NFL Draft were all on the offensive side of the ball, there was a ton of defensive talent flying off the board after that with teams around the league looking to solidify themselves defensively heading into the latter portion of the offseason.
PFF released it’s grades and shared which teams from its perspective improved the most on the defensive line following the 2024 draft.
According to PFF’s Trevor Sikkema, the four most improved defensive lines in the draft were the Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Miami Dolphins.

Atlanta added a trio of defensive tackles by taking Clemson’s Ruke Orhorhoro in the second round, Oregon’s Brandon Dorius in the fourth round, and Zion Logue out of Georgia in the sixth round.
The Falcons also added edge rusher Bralen Trice out of Washington in the third round, as clearly improving the front seven was a major area of focus for Atlanta with Notre Dame linebacker JD Bertrand also landing with Atlanta in the fifth.
For the first time in years, the Rams had a healthy amount of draft picks including their first first-round pick since taking Jared Goff first overall in 2016.
LA went with star edge rusher Jared Verse out of Florida State in the first round and took his teammate near the top of Round 2, DT Braden Fiske.
The Rams again addressed both positions in the fifth and sixth rounds.
These were four teams with big holes to fill following free agency periods that saw them lose a bunch of talent, and all four did a great job loading up on the front seven on draft day.
