The Kansas City Chiefs‘ defense held the Denver Broncos to eight points in their latest victory.
This was the third time they have held an opposing team to 10 or fewer points this season, the sign of a strong defense.
One reason for the Chiefs’ success on defense is the return of Chris Jones, who was holding out due to a contract dispute.
He has helped their defensive line tremendously and was interviewed about the team’s performance.
“As a complete defense, this is probably one of the most challenging groups I’ve been a part of,” Jones said in a postgame interview.

While Jones might have had his issues with the organization in the offseason, he had positive feedback for the defense.
If Jones’ comments were genuine, this is great news for the Chiefs heading into the rest of the season.
The Chiefs had a good enough defense to win the Super Bowl last season, but there were several concerns about that unit heading into this year.
As Jones mentioned, they are only getting healthier and now have extra time to plan and heal for their next stretch of games.
Having the mini-bye of Thursday Night Football could not come at a better time for the Chiefs.
Their next three games are against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos, and the Miami Dolphins.
All three of these opponents should provide a tough test.
If the defense can get through their next three games unscathed, it bodes well for this team for the rest of the season.
