Football is still king, and the National Football League is well aware of that.
Every year, the league sets new highs in terms of ratings and viewership, and with the game reaching more and more corners of the Earth, that’s not going to change any time soon.
Also, with all the frenzy around streaming platforms and whatnot, it seems like every single company wants to join the party and get a significant cut.
With that in mind, the guys from Awful Announcing did the math and figured out how much it could cost to watch the upcoming NFL season, and let’s just say that it’s not for everybody (via Dov Kleiman).
It will potentially cost #NFL fans $850 to watch every game next season
– $72.99 Youtube TV
– $8.99 Prime Video
– $5.99 Peacock
– $10.99 ESPN+

Per the report, it could cost up to $850 to watch every game of the upcoming football season.
Breaking it down, it would be $72.99 for YouTube TV, $8.99 for Prime Video, $5.99 for Peacock, $10.99 for ESPN+, $6.99 for Netflix, and $349 for Sunday Ticket, and it all adds up to at least $855.86 per season.
It seemed like the whole point of streaming services was to save.
However, cable subscriptions run between $55 and $250 a month, so it seems like that’s no longer the case.
The craziest part about this is that people will continue to pay for this, as it’s pretty much America’s pastime.
Football is the backbone of the American entertainment industry, and it just doesn’t matter how expensive it can get.
Hopefully, the league will at least give the fans what they want to see in terms of entertainment.
